Crazy Work Stories

I've been working in the food industry for more than 30 years. I started out washing dishes in a restaurant when I was just a kid, and had to stand on a milk crate to reach inside the 2-foot deep sink. As I got older, I learned how to make salads & other appetizers. In my twenties, my family opened a restaurant, and what an adventure that was, let me tell you. Just imagine Hell's Kitchen and your typical soap opera all rolled into one. Crazy, right? Well, that's the kind of drama I was a part of for over 20 years. When we decided to close our restaurant, I spent about seven months working in a deli before taking on my current position as an assistant bakery manager. I might not be working with my family anymore, but I'm definitely still dealing with all kinds of drama and a whole lot of crazy.
