Reflecting on Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Like millions of other people, I witnessed history being made on Tuesday, January 20, 2009 at 12:06pm EST. If you missed that monumental moment, I actually feel sorry for you. Sure, I realize that Barack Obama is just a man, but he's the kind of man whose idea of change involves us all, not just him and his policies because, as he said, "all are equal, all are free, and all deserve a chance to pursue their full measure of happiness." Together, people can make a difference. We just have to "pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off, and begin again the work of remaking America."

I might not be an American citizen, but, as I said in a previous post, I believe in President Obama and in what people can do when they join together to make changes for the better. So, I ask you, what is it that you will do to make this world a better place for you, your family, friends, and fellow citizens?

P.S. For those of you who missed it...

  2. Thank You so much for your comment and your nice words!! I so believe in what Obama stands for too.. its not about him as one man but what he can inspire in the world. . . this is the difference between him and every recent president... for the first time in my life (and I've voted in every election) I am excited and feel involved in government and can make a difference. And I get inspired every time I hear other people feel the same way!

    Thanks,
    A

  3. Wow thank you so much for wanting to feature me! That's awesome to hear, of course I'm ok with that. :) Thank you for what you said, it's a good pick me up when I'm feeling down. And I did feel better today. I don't think I'm that interesting, but I hope other people can relate to some of what I say. Thanks again.

  4. I was almost expecting more from the ceremony, you know, some drama.
    Like maybe Bush would refuse to leave and Obama would back out after realisisng that this might not be his calling after all. But, yeah, it was a historic moment.
    Thanks for your comments on my blog. Do come back for more :)

  5. @izzie
    I agree with you also
    @Andrejka
    Your welcome and I must feel good to have all this positive attention focused at the US instead of all that the negative.
    @Lindsay
    Your welcome and you deserve it. Stay healthy.
    @Nivedita
    Ok, alittle drama would have been good, like someone throwing another shoe or maybe Bush starting to cry saying I don't want to go Daddy.....but we did get a good show. Thanks for commenting on this.
