Sing The Song

Liquor on my lips
Wine...
Fills the time
Meaningless nights
Gaps

Voices
Tell the story
Stabbing – jabbing
Pushing – pulling
Reminding me...

Stop it!
Stop it!
Stop the voices
The noises
The song of hate

The lying words
Hurt me
Trash me
Lash out at me
When will it end?

I feel lost
I feel alone
Seems to be the theme
The sad song
Sung for so long

I am the song
The anthem of despair
Floating
In the night sky
Like smoke in the air

Looking, longing
Wondering, waiting
For tender time
Love time
All the time…

Singing
A strange song
A painful song
A heartbreak tune
At the full height of the moon

Turn…
My eyes to the sky
Wipe my tears
Lights out
Good-bye

It's a great movie about self discovery and crossed paths... try to watch it... :)

  16. JB, this is very lyrical. I love it, I love how it flows and almost rhymes but not to the point of monotony. This is stunning, melancholic but beautiful at the same time.

Hang in there, we're always here to support you x

  18. You are an incredibly talented writer. Love that poem: the flow, the musicality of the lyrics, the dark and light tones inter mixed.

I'm so happy I found your blog.

  21. @katie....I wrote this poem, while I was watching Dancing with the Stars...yeah, I know that sounds insane. The show had nothing to do with it, but the thoughts came at that moment. I would like to add I hate that show a lot. I was watching it with my mother that night...ahhh....

Another thing, the poem was edited by my cousin, who helps me with my blog. She helped me rework it. I owe her for making me look so good and I couldn't do it without her. I need to give credit, where credit is due and she is owed.....thanks cuzzzzzzzzz....!!!!

Every good writer, has a great editor and she is my rock star on this front. To be truly honest, I'm not a good writer, it's she, that makes me look good. I'm a story teller and she is the editor, who makes my stories come to life and I love her for that. She also tells me, that I have a love of comma's and that I should stop using them lolol....haha it cracks me up.

I really like this poem too. I kind of found a new flow with words that I never really used before. I know where this poem comes from but it's the song that it sung to me when I started to pen it on paper. I start all my poems on paper.

  23. @LLnL.....I'm happy you found my blog. If you read my comments to katieleigh, my writing comes together thanks to my cousin.

The poem didn't change but it was just reworked so that it flowed and I guess it worked out.

By the way I also really like your blog. Thanks for dropping by.
