Eleven Years Later...

Hi Everyone,

Sunday, August 4th marked 11 years since this blog got started. Hard to believe it's been that long and how much things have changed. For those of you who still stop by to see what's new, you've surely noticed that JB hasn't made an appearance in a very long time. She still has all the crazy stories, just no time to sit down and share. It's a shame because I know you'd love them. You can't make this sh*t up, believe me.

Anyway... if you're still reading, then I guess you must be interested in what I have to share, otherwise you would have been long gone by now. I might not be able to entertain you with stories like JB, but I do share some good shopping deals and food for thought whenever I can.

For this blog post, I thought a look back at some of the most popular stories would be fun, so I'm listing them here for all of you to enjoy. They are still as hilarious as I remember. If you're coming back to read them again, or if you're just reading them for the first time, please take a moment to comment on which one you love best.

Until next time,
Eddy

Google Friend Connect Update -- Please Read

Hi Everyone,

Have any of you with Blogger Blogspot based blogs noticed a drop in followers recently? Well, you are not alone. Looks like some changes are being made with Google Friend Connect requiring all users to have a Google Account in order to sign in and follow blogs. I'm going to post the official notice below so that all of you can get informed and inform others you may know who are not aware of these changes.

An update on Google Friend Connect

Posted: December 21, 2015

In 2011, we announced the retirement of Google Friend Connect for all non-Blogger sites. We made an exception for Blogger to give readers an easy way to follow blogs using a variety of accounts. Yet over time, we’ve seen that most people sign into Friend Connect with a Google Account. So, in an effort to streamline, in the next few weeks we’ll be making some changes that will eventually require readers to have a Google Account to sign into Friend Connect and follow blogs.

As part of this plan, starting the week of January 11, we’ll remove the ability for people with Twitter, Yahoo, Orkut or other Open Id providers to sign in to Google Friend Connect and follow blogs. At the same time, we’ll remove non-Google Account profiles so you may see a decrease in your blog follower count.

We encourage you to tell affected readers (perhaps via a blog post), that if they use a non-Google Account to follow your blog, they need to sign up for a Google Account, and re-follow your blog. With a Google Account, they’ll get blogs added to their Reading List, making it easier for them to see the latest posts and activity of the blogs they follow.

We know how important followers are to all bloggers, but we believe this change will improve the experience for both you and your readers.

Posted by Michael Goddard, Software Engineer

--------------------------------------------

There you have it, folks. I know signing up for yet another email account is probably not what most people want to do, but I sure hope that those of you who have been following us with a non-Google account will consider signing up for one in order to keep following us --- and not just us, but all the other Blogger Blogspot based blogs that you enjoy.

For those of you who'd rather follow us another way, you can also get notified of new posts by following us on:

You can also subscribe to our RSS feed. Here's the XML format, if you prefer.

We've been blogging here for over 7 years now, and really appreciate our followers. Many thanks on behalf of JB and myself for sticking with us. We hope that all of you will keep following us for as long as we keep blogging.

Until next time,

Eddy

From Google To My Blog

Do you ever wonder what people are searching for when they come across your blog?

Well, I had Eddy check on that for me, and I still can't believe what turned up. Seriously, people are searching for some really bizarre sh*t, and the fact that my blog turned up in the results is totally weirding me out.

Anyway, below are some of the ways that people went from Google to my blog.

** WHO eats MOCK CHICKEN?? And wtf is it????????

- this is who eats it, and this is what it is

** why is paul a pecker neck

- I couldn't say, but thanks a lot for the visual...

** its gonna hurt me hard sex1

- and it's gonna hurt me hard sex2... wtf??

** my sexy are kill are gonna be happy i said bang bang

- I say bang bang, stay the h*ll away from my blog!!

** I have hamburger, what do I make with it?

- don't ask me... I work in a bakery

** nice women sing hamburger

- does that mean naughty women sing hot dog??

** sims 2 sex

- now wait just a frickin' minute, the sims are having sex???

** female pilates woodpeckers

- I don't even want to think about why someone would be looking for those things in the same google search

** lady gaga wants to make hamburger

- good for gaga... I'm sure that meat dress she wore to the MTV Video Awards will grind up nicely

Happy 2nd Blogoversary!

Happy Blogoversary, JB!

Hey everyone, it's Eddy here. Today is JB's 2nd blogoversary, and I'm surprising her with a little blog makeover. She's been wanting to add pages to her blog since before Blogger was actually offering the option, and now she's got them! I've also made a few other changes that we talked about way back when, and I think things turned out pretty good.

If you take a look around JB's blog, you'll see that her work stories and poems are no longer listed down the left side. Instead, you can now find her work stories on the Crazy Work Stories page, and her poems on the Black Thoughts Poetry page. There is also a page dedicated to some other amusing stories - Bizarre Dreams & More - that aren't work related. Also, JB's blog awards have been moved from the bottom right side of her blog to the Blog Awards Gallery page. Lastly, there is a personal page - About JB - with links to a number of insightful posts. :)

If you're looking to add/follow JB elsewhere on the web, you can easily do so via the social bookmarking buttons on her blog, or via the links below:

Blogged
BlogCatalog
Digg
MySpace
Playlist
RSS (JB's blog posts)
Shelfari
StumbleUpon
Technorati
Twitter
YouTube

Widgets showing some of JB's fave movies, books and music are still on the right side of her blog, but they take up less space now. Meanwhile, her blog archive and recent posts have been moved from the left side of her blog to the new columns at the bottom. The search box is down there as well.

Well, I guess that's all, folks. For those of you who take a minute to leave JB blogoversary wishes, I'd really appreciate it if you could also take a moment to let me know if the blog changes are showing up OK where ever you are in the world.

Thanks!

Until next time,
Eddy

I Shoulda Been A Stripper

As most of you know, I haven't really been around the blogosphere for weeks now. If you're wondering why, the long and the short of it is that my life has been complete insanity, and I don't even know how I am still functioning at this point. I feel like my body could give out at any moment, but I don't have time for it to fail me because I have stuff to do. Speaking of which, last month, Court at Tangles Out selected me for the I Shoulda Been A Stripper Award, and I still haven't had a chance to post it here & pass it on to other bloggers, so I'm going to do that right now.

Guidelines:

a. post the award on your blog

- Check!

b. list 7 of your personality traits, as evidenced on your blog

1. Funny
2. Romantic
3. Stubborn
4. Sarcastic
5. Passionate
6. Hardworking
7. Quirky

c. pass the award on to 7 other bloggers with notable personality, and be sure to let them know that they've been selected

1. Chrissy - the woman who invented this award, or so I thought (I'm still waiting for my lap dance!)

2. Anna - my sexy Swedish lover (you so naughty!)

3. Rob - a guy who'd totally rock some tight leather shorts (just imagine Nana's reaction!)

4. Miss.Stefanie - a gal who's the perfect mix of naughty and nice (purrr!)

5. Lee - a woman who knows all about flashing (is it hot in here?)

6. Mr. C - a guy who knows how to please the ladies (I know you have a Chippendales tuxedo, so don't try to deny it. lol)

7. Travel & Dive Girl - an adventurous gal (have you been to any more sex shows?)

Well, that's it for now. I miss you all, my fellow bloggers. Group hug!!

J'Adore Tien Blog

A few weeks ago, the lovely Alpha passed on the J'Adore Tien Blog (ie. I Love Your Blog) award to me, but I'm just now getting around to sharing the news. I swear, I start drafts, but finishing them can sometimes take a while because I'm just too bloody tired to write when I get home from work. There are some changes going on, however, that should make my life easier (fingers crossed) come the end of this month. I'll fill you guys in later, though, otherwise I'll never get to passing on the J'Adore Tien Blog award.

Rules (as far as I can tell):

1. Name the person who passed the award on to you & link back to his or her blog

- Thanks again to Alpha

2. Pass the award on to bloggers (you choose how many... I only picked 5 because I love a lot of blogs) who write blogs that you love

Shadow

Mr. Condescending

Cheryl

Chris

Mel

3. Display the award on your blog

Done!

I'm A Superior Scribbler!

A few days ago, CatLadyLarew stopped by to say that she had something for me on her blog. What I found waiting there for me was the Superior Scribbler Award. I'm very flattered to be a recipient of this award because I never thought anyone would actually give a crap about what I had to say, and also because growing as a writer is really important to me. Thanks, CatLadyLarew, for your appreciation & support.

Now, as with all blog awards, there are rules to be followed, and they are:

1. Pass the award on to 5 deserving bloggy friends

I hereby award Anna, Maggie May, Anita, Cinner, and Travel & Dive Girl.

2. Name the person who passed the award on to you & link back to his or her blog

Thanks again to CatLadyLarew!

3. Display the award on your blog

Check!

4. Link to this post which explains how the award came to be & add your name to the Mr. Linky List at the end of that post.

I'm number 924.

I wonder who will be number 1000.

The Votes Are In

Just a quick note to let everyone know that I have reviewed the votes from my 1st Blogoversary post, and the story you guys really want me to write about is The Hair Down There. Why am I not surprised? lol Seriously, though, if all goes well, I should have the story posted by next Friday, so stay tuned.

My 1st Blogoversary - I Made It!

A year ago today I was in a pretty bad place. I didn't think that I'd even be here to see another August 4th, and I sure as h*ll didn't know that I'd be celebrating a Blogoversary. I've come full circle, hit the wall & fell down a few times on the way, but I made it.

I have to thank Eddy, who got me started on my blogging journey in the first place, my parents & my sister, my roommate & friends, and all of my new friends & followers here in the blogosphere, for all of your love & support. You found me & you helped me heal. Thank you one & all.

As a treat, I'm letting all of you pick what you want me to write about next. Just leave a comment to let me know which of the following you want to read about most:

* She-Man - The Return

* The Hair Down There

* Mad Man (Really Mad!!)

* Sh*tty McSh*tty

* A Ground Hog With Sexy Legs

Awarded Again!

My dear fellow bloggers, I have been awarded again. :) This time it's the Neno's award & it was given to me by Magdalena over at The Untamed Thoughts on Autism. Thank you, Magdalena, I am honoured!

Neno's award is given to those who love blogging & love to encourage friendships through blogging. It also seeks to know the reasons why the person being awarded loves blogging.

So, first things first. Why do I love blogging? Well, I started blogging because I was broken and feeling helpless, and I desperately needed an avenue to express myself. I went to therapy, did my yoga, and tried all kinds of other things too, but nothing was really helping until I started blogging. Blogging saved my life, it really did. I mean it. I was on the verge of suicide, but one morning I called Eddy and told her that I wanted to start a blog or something because I needed an outlet. Well, in a couple of hours, Eddy got me up and running & I haven't looked back since. I wrote out all the pain, despair, anger, everything. I wrote until I cried over all that I lost, and somehow, little by little, I gained so much more. I got my life back!! Not only that, I've made so many wonderful new friends. I started healing from my pain because complete strangers took the time to read what I had to say & to leave me messages of encouragement, hope, and love. You have no idea how much that means to me & I thank you all so much. I will never forget what you've done for me & continue to do for me. Lastly, the most amazing thing out of all this is my relationship with my super great cuz, Eddy. Without her help, her pushing me to write, and telling me to get to it, I could never have come this far. So, with great love and appreciation, thank you, Eddy. It's all because of you that I’m able to forge this new road. Thank-you, and I promise that I'm going to buy a better dictionary & that I will use less commas when I'm writing my drafts. LOL

Now, I'm to pass the Neno's award on to as many bloggers as I choose. Those of you selected must then do the following:

1. Collect the award by saving the badge & posting it on your blog

2. Write a blog post about the Neno's award -- tell everyone what it's about, who awarded it to you, and also tell everyone why you love blogging

3. Pass the award on to as many bloggers as you like by naming them in your post & linking back to their blogs

4. Let those bloggers know that they have been awarded

I have chosen the following bloggers as Neno's award recipients:

Court at Tangles Out

Polly at Polly Abroad

Blog Awards: Spreading The Love

A couple of weeks ago, I was awarded three awards by both The Passionate Bookworm & Pink Loves Paris (thanks again, ladies!!), but I never did get around to passing those awards on to 10 people of my choice or posting the badges on my blog. Well, Eddy finally kicked my butt into gear the other night and told me to make a list so we could get the blog up-to-date. Selecting who I wanted to give the awards to was easy. Narrowing down my list of 20 names to just 10 was the hard part.

The Honest Scrap Award (given to people who write honestly in their blogs)

KatieLeigh

Trinity

Rob

The Lemonade Stand Award (given to bloggers with great attitude & gratitude)

Scott

Lindsay

Rene

The Friend Award (for bloggers who aim to find and be friends & who aren't interested in self-aggrandizement)

An Uber Amazing Blog Award: This Is A First!!

When I checked in here to work on a new post, I didn't know that it was going to be this one. I was going through my comments from the night before, when... WHAT??!! I was completely shocked (in a good way) to find out that Ken at Dad to Two gave me an Uber Amazing Blog award! I thought that being named Cool Blog of the Week (5th post on that page) in October by Ken (who received his first blog award a few days ago -- Kudos, Ken!!) was exciting, but this is super exciting!! Thank you, Ken, you totally made my day!

Now, exactly what is an Uber Amazing Blog award? Well, it's an award that's given to sites that:

  • inspire you
  • make you smile & laugh or maybe give amazing information
  • are a great read
  • have an amazing design
  • for any other reason(s) you can think of makes them uber amazing

The rules associated with this award are as follows:

  • put the logo on your blog or post
  • nominate at least 5 blogs that for you are Uber Amazing
  • let them know that they have received this Uber Amazing award by commenting on their blog
  • share the love and link to this post and to the person you received your award from

So, without further ado, here are my picks for the Uber Amazing Blog award:

1. Petite Anglaise

This blog is written by a British woman who's been living in Paris (I love Paris!) for over 10 years. I actually discovered her blog by accident back in July of this year. I was browsing around a book store, when a cover with the Eiffel Tower on it caught my eye. So, I picked it up & started reading about the author, Catherine Sanderson. Turns out her blog got to be so popular that she was offered a book deal. At the time, I'd only been thinking about blogging, but after reading her story, I decided that it was time to go for it. Catherine, you inspire me. Thank you.

2. The Lucky Nest

This blog is written by Ellie Moore. She's a freelance writer/editor, and I really enjoy her writing. She is a fellow "life" blogger (i.e. she blogs about her life & life in general), and always cracks me up.

3. Not The Rockefeller's

This blog is written by Rene, another "life" blogger. Like me, she hasn't been blogging for very long, but she actually has time for two blogs (girl, I don't know how you do it with work, and kids, and hubby -- kudos to you!), and I think she's doing great. Check out her latest post about family (which totally speaks to me... gee I wonder why - LOL), and you'll quickly see why it's so easy to relate to her.

4. Clever Girl Goes Blog

This blog is written by the very witty Tia. She was recently Blog of Note, so it's possible that you've already heard about her. I love the design of her blog & she never fails to make me laugh out loud. Tia, you rock, girl!

5. Chelsea Talks Smack

This blog is written by Chelsea, who's looking for "a nice single guy, who’s a gentleman, and has great arms" (just thought I'd help you out, girl - lol). She's young, fresh, funny, and I love reading about her views on life.

Well, while all of you are checking out those blogs, I'm off to notify the 5 fantastic women behind them that they & their blogs are uber amazing.

About My Blog: What Do You Think? Inquiring Minds Want To Know

I was talking to my cousin (who keeps me in check by editing my posts for me so that they're not too long winded or hard to follow) about my blog, and we got on the topic of comments. More specifically, why there aren't any comments yet. So, I want to know: what do you think? Am I boring? Do you think I'm nuts? Can you relate to me? Do you enjoy the same books/movies/music that I do? Tell me something, anything. Seriously, folks, I'm not afraid of feedback. As I said in a previous post, this is an outlet for me, a way to help me heal, so I welcome other points-of-view. Who knows, maybe what you have to say just might help me deal with what's going on in my so-called life, and/or maybe what I have to say will help one of you. We may not all be on the same path, but we are all in this great big world together.

OMG, I'm A Mess!

I was just taking stock of my posts over the last month, and thought -- OMG, I’m a mess! Seriously, I can't believe how all over the place I am. Although, in comparison to last year, the level of mess is at a 5 (this based on a scale from 1-10, 10 being the worst). Two years ago the level of mess was at an 11. Three years ago, it was just about off the charts, so I often stayed in bed nursing my depression. Still, no matter how messed up I am, I’m somehow prefect in my imperfection. Only now, anyone with access to a computer can read all about it. Speaking of which, I have been journaling since I was 14, so getting my private thoughts down in written form isn't new to me (no, Oprah did not make me do it), but blogging is something else. Blogging is journaling publicly, and there is no way in hell that I could have done this last year, or the year before that, no way. This year, though, I need to do this because it’s my way of repairing the damage that was done to me. I am being honest, and it may be messy & all over the place sometimes, but it’s good for me. Who knows, maybe I can get someone else to open their window to let the sun in, make their bed, take a shower, and live, love and laugh again. God knows I didn’t really do (or want to do) those things when I was at my lowest of lows.

JB

P.S. For all you that think I might still be in love with my Ex, I really can't answer that right now. Also, for those of you who think that I hate her, I can't answer that either. What I can say is you don’t choose who you love. You might try too, but in the end, love chooses you, and I don’t regret the love that chose me, no matter what’s happened.
